We consider Forbes to be the best nursery we have come across in Edinburgh and would not hesitate to recommend it. The staff are friendly, welcoming and caring and the nursery succeeds in providing a real “home from home” environment. The range of activities provided is excellent and in particular we have been impressed this year with the development of the garden and the physical exercise programme - perhaps you should offer yourself up as an example of how to encourage exercise amongst young children, particularly with current concerns on childhood fitness and the possibility of compulsory PE sessions in state nurseries!

Three years ago Robert came to us as a little boy traumatised by his early life experiences and with a great deal of difficulty in relating to the world around him. He found new experiences and situations very difficult to cope with and struggles enormously with other adults and children. Last month he started school as a boy transformed. He has settled into school easily and is happily relating to other children, adults and all the new experiences in his world.

We have no doubt that the high level of care, patience and skill of the staff at Forbes has been a crucial factor in allowing Robert to develop into the confident little schoolboy he is today. We are enormously grateful to you all. Three years ago we dearly hoped that Robert could overcome his difficult start in life and reach his full potential. Today we can comfortably say that he now has every opportunity to do so.
