To meet
and encourage young children's full development,
registration requires nurseries be staffed
as follows:- |
| 1:3 |
3 - 24 months |
| 1:5 |
2 - 3 years |
| 1:8 |
3 - 5 years |
|
| We always maintain
a higher number of staff for the 3-5 year
olds than registration requires |
| Key staff
|
The nursery
has 2 lead practitioners, one for pre-school and one
for under 3s, also an administrator who runs
the office and deals with day to day business
and enquiries. Most of the staff hold qualifications
in child care or early education or are working
towards a qualification in accordance with
the requirements of the Scottish Social Services
Council . We also employ an Early Years' Specialist
who works with the preschool children.
The lead practitioners are responsible for the running
of the nursery and administration, long
term planning, individual development profiles
as well as a caring and professional role.
Our chef comes in daily to cook fresh food
for the children,
A key worker system is operated whereby
a child is allocated to a particular carer
who then becomes the parents'/carers’
main source of information about their child's
day. This is especially important during
the initial settling in period as it allows
both the child and the parents to build
up an individual relationship with a member
of the staff. However the child will also
be interacting daily with other members
of staff. |
